Are Pilates and Yoga the same thing?
This is a question that I am asked fairly regularly and its always nice to be able to explain some of the differences between these two popular forms of exercise. Whilst the pace of Pilates and Yoga can be considered similar, as are some of the benefits in terms of health and well being – the two methods are actually quite distinct from each other. My wellness journey and yours…
I wasn’t always into ‘wellness’ Funnily enough, this idea of really looking after myself (beyond knowing I probably shouldn’t eat the whole packet of biscuits and I should do some exercise) came quite a bit later in my life. This is actually, I find, quite a common misconception with Pilates. And I totally get it! You see all these pictures of people in all kinds of fantastic ‘pose’ positions. Bending left, right and centre with that far away, contemplative look in their eyes, and if you haven’t tried it before, its’s natural to respond with no way, no how, not me! Whilst these images can indeed be very…
